Glasgow Gaels celebrate partnerships and prepare for new season

GLASGOW Gaels GFC was delighted recently to continue its partnership with Kitty O’Shea’s.

Some of the squad members visited the city centre venue to present them with a framed Gaels jersey as a token of gratitude for their ongoing sponsorship of the club.

"We are excited to continue this fantastic partnership into 2025 and beyond," a Gaels spokesperson said. "Thank you, Kitty’s, for being such a valued part of the Gaels community."

Gaels also recently held its annual general meeting at the Clydebank Sports Hub. The AGM recalled a fairly mixed year on the field, with the Ladies Seniors team unable to maintain their superb momentum built up from 2023 and Men’s Seniors beaten in the Championship Final.

On the plus side however, the Men’s Intermediate and Junior sides won their respective Championships as well as the Ladies Junior team being successful in the shield.

The club also announced a new partnership with Mid-Argyll Shinty Club and Broomhill Sports Club at Peterson Park, Yoker, giving the club an additional location to host training and matches at all levels. The new sponsorship from Kitty O’Shea’s has also assisted club activities throughout the year as well as being a superb location for club functions and events.

The new Glasgow Gaels committee are as follows: Chairperson, Declan Murtagh; Vice Chair, Colly Clerkin; Treasurer, Donald Jackman; Men’s Secretary, Fionan Keane; Vice Secretary (Mens), David McGovern; Ladies Secretary, Dara Brown; Vice Secretary (Ladies), Rachael Butler; Underage Coordinator, Paul Maher; Men’s PRO, Calum McNeil; and Child Protection Officer, Sean Huddleston.

The club is now looking forward to its annual dinner dance which will be held in the Clayton Hotel, Glasgow on Saturday, February 8, 2025 with tickets priced at £40 each.
